Built around 1879 by the Independent Order of the Oldfellows, which also built the meeting hall to which the cottage is attached, the cottage was the caretakers residence. A typical Victorian terrace house with high ceiling rooms all off one side of the long hall. The house has been tastefully restored using traditional materials, heritage fittings and colours. The slate and brick private courtyard with outdoor table and chairs is accessible from the kitchen-dining room through French doors.
