Situated near the picturesque Yellow Waters Billabong, in the heart of Kakadu National Park, 3 hours drive from Darwin. Cooinda is a good spot to stay and enjoy a Yellow Waters cruise. Nature walks and the Aboriginal Cultural Centre are also available in this area. Yellow Waters is a must as one can plenty of species of Australian birds and crocodiles in season.

Good basic accommodation and very handy for Yellow Waters cruises. SS1008 Lodge rooms are fairly basic, but adequate. The restaurant is open for Breakfast & dinner and specialises in local produce. There is an "al fresco" option in the Bistro who open for lunch and dinner. The "Billabong lunch buffet" in the bistro is very popular. Low rise lodge style accommodation with swimming pool. There is also a campsite near by, and dormitory style accommodation.
